Stokes, John Joseph

Born 1890 Westbury Tasmania the son of Edward and Alice Stokes (nee Walters) a labourer he embarked Sydney 14^th June 1917 on board “HMAT Hororata” with the 40^th Battalion

He died 3^rd July 1917 at sea on board “HMAT Hororata” from cerebral spinal meningitis and was buried at sea  He is commemorated on the Hollybrook Memorial, Southampton, Hampshire, United Kingdom
