Storay, Percy James

 

Born 1st August 1892 Launceston Tasmania to James and Clara Storay (nee Hutton) a labourer who departed Melbourne 18th February 1916 on board “HMAT Ballarat” with the 12th Infantry Battalion.

He died 29th April 1917 from wounds received in the field and was buried in the St Sever Cemetery Extension, Rouen, France.

His brother Pte Albert Forrester Story died 20th September 1915 in Egypt of Pharyngitis. 

It is officially reported that Private Percy James Storay, 12th Battalion, died on April 29 from a gunshot wound in the right arm, compound fracture, and complications at the 11th Stationary Hospital. The next of kin is the father, Mr Jas. Storay, Penguin. Deceased was 24 years of age. This is the second loss sustained by Mr. and Mrs. Storay, and the sympathy of the district goes out to them in the noble sacrifice they had made for King and country.
