Stratton, John William Yaxley
Born 28th April 1881 Ulverstone Tasmania to Joseph and Mary Stratton (nee Yaxley) a farmer he embarked Melbourne 5th January 1916 on board “HMAT Afric” with the 26th Infantry Battalion. He was wounded in the field at Pozieres and died 8th August 1916 and was buried in the Etaples Military Cemetery, France. STRATTON. — Died of wounds in the 4th General Hospital, France, John William Yaxley Stratton, eldest son of Joseph and Mary Stratton, Ulverstone. For his country's cause.
