Street, Montague Bertram (Nobby)

 

 

 

 

 

Born 25th September 1888 Hobart Tasmania to Richard and Lydia Street (nee Mackrell) he was a gardener when he enlisted.

He embarked Brisbane 29th June 1915 on the HMAT Aeneas with the 26th Infantry Battalion. His good friend Hector Clarence Pacey enlisted at the same time.

They were both killed Pozieres France by the same shell.  The bodies were found by Hector Pacey’s brother Albert who later married Montague’s younger sister, Winifred Street.
