Sturges, Spencer

Private Spencer Sturges

 

Born 1898 Launceston Tasmania the son of Charles and Florence May Sturges (nee Crossingham) a photographer he embarked Melbourne 23rd November 1915 on board “HMAT Ceramic” with the 14th Infantry Battalion.

 

He was serving with the 46th Infantry Battalion when he was killed in action 13th November 1916 at Pozieres France and is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux, Picardie, France
