Summers, Arthur Alfred

Born Launceston Tasmania married but living apart he listed his son Arthur Alfred Summers of 77 Hampton Road Battery Point as his next of kin. He embarked Melbourne 2^nd February 1915 on board “HMAT Clan McGillivray” with the 12^th Infantry Battalion.

He served on the Gallipoli Peninsula and was appointed Lance Corporal 30^th March 1917.

He was serving with the 3^rd Field Company Engineers when he was killed in action 16^th January 1918 at Messines and is commemorated in the Messines Ridge British Cemetery, Messines, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.
