Swift, John Alexander

Born 29^th September 1870 Clarence Tasmania the son of Henry and Janet Swift (nee Ramsey) married to Sarah Dorothy Stowe a 45 year old plumber he embarked Melbourne 24^th November 1915 on board RMS Orontes with the 12^th Infantry Battalion.

He was killed in action 3-7^th September 1916 at Pozieres and is commemorated in the Serre Road Cemetery France.

His son Pte Thomas William West Swift, 12th Battalion was also killed in action, 25 April 1915.
