Symons, George Milford
Born 1889 Beaconsfield Tasmania the son of George and Martha Melinda Symons (nee Dennis) he embarked Sydney 14th June 1917 on board “HMAT Hororata” with the 12th Infantry Battalion. He was admitted to the 3rd Australian Field Ambulance on the 11th May 1918 suffering from gas poisoning (mustard) and transferred to the 8th Stationary Hospital Wimereux France where he died 20th May 1918. He was buried in the Boulogne Eastern Cemetery, France. SYMONS.—Died of wounds and gas poisoning received in action in France on the 20th May, Private George Milford Symons, 12th Battalion, eldest beloved son of George and Martha Symons, Turners Marsh, aged 29 years.
