Talbot, Albert Edward 

 

Born 23rd February 1891 Bellerive Tasmania the son of Arthur John and Elizabeth Talbot (nee Peachey) a barman he embarked Melbourne 27th September 1915 on board “HMAT Hororata” with the 26th Infantry Battalion.

 

He was killed in action 29th July 1916 at Pozieres in France and is commemorated on the  Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux France

TALBOT. -Killed in action in France (previously reported missing), July 29, 1916, Private Albert Edward Talbot, second beloved son of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Talbot, brother of Thomas A. Talbot, on active service, aged 27. (Launceston papers please copy.)  For God, King, and Country.
