Taylor, Frederick Henry

Born 10^th September 1897 Launceston Tasmania to Alfred Edwards and Gertrude Sarah Taylor (nee East) a baker who embarked Hobart 1^st July 1916 on board “HMAT Berrima” with the 40^th Infantry Battalion.

He enlisted 24^th March 1916, was taken on strength 1^st May 1916, was fighting at Messines in June 1917 where he was gassed and was mortally wounded in the Somme Offensive 28^th March 1918.

He died 31^st March 1918 and was buried in the Doullens Communal Cemetery Extension No 1, France.
