Taylor, Frederick Henry

 

Born 10th September 1897 Launceston Tasmania to Alfred Edwards and Gertrude Sarah Taylor (nee East) a baker who embarked Hobart 1st July 1916 on board “HMAT Berrima” with the 40th Infantry Battalion. 

He enlisted 24th March 1916, was taken on strength 1st May 1916, was fighting at Messines in June 1917 where he was gassed and was mortally wounded in the Somme Offensive 28th March 1918.

 He died 31st March 1918 and was buried in the Doullens Communal Cemetery Extension No 1, France.
