Terry, Edward Churchill

 

Born 28th July 1891 Hobart Tasmania to Winston Simmons and Charlotte Martha Terry (nee Devine) and was a railway worker when he enlisted and was posted to the 12th Battalion.  He died at Alexandria after being severely wounded at Gallipoli.

PRIVATE EDWARD CHURCHILL TERRY (died of wounds) was second son of Mr. and Mrs. Winstan Terry of Hobart, and   nephew of Mr. Devine, of Wonthaggi, late of Outtrim. He was for a considerable time farming with his uncle, he enlisted from Hobart, and was 23 years of age. A   younger brother, Corporal Eric Terry, is in the trenches
