His brother (2888) H Terry C Company 40th Battalion stated “My brother Tasman Terry was killed at Passchendaele on the 4th October 1917.  I have written full details home to my people.”

Mr. John Terry, of Cape Portland, received the sad news of the death of his son, Private Tasman Terry, who was killed in action on October 4. Private Terry was a fine lad, and respected by all who knew him Mr. Terry has four sons on active service.
