Thickins William

Born 27^th February 1889 Hobart Tasmania the son of William Herbert and Bridget Thickins (nee Keegan) of 109 Hampden Street a tram conductor he embarked Melbourne 19^th February 1915 on board “HMAT Runic” with the 15^th Infantry Battalion.

He was killed in action 8^th August 1915 on the Gallipoli Peninsula and is commemorated on the Lone Pine Memorial, Gallipoli Peninsula.

Sadly, he was only 16 ½ when he died.
