Thompson, James Bruce

Born Hobart Tasmania the son of James Matthew and Louisa Ellen Thompson a labourer he embarked Sydney 1^st September 1915 on board “HMAT Ayrshire” with the 9^th Infantry Battalion.

He was serving with the 49^th Battalion when he was killed in action 7^th June 1917 at Messines and is commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial, Ypres, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.
