Thompson, James Bruce

 

Born Hobart Tasmania the son of James Matthew and Louisa Ellen Thompson a labourer he embarked Sydney 1st September 1915 on board “HMAT Ayrshire” with the 9th Infantry Battalion.

 

He was serving with the 49th Battalion when he was killed in action 7th June 1917 at Messines and is commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial, Ypres, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.
