Tilley Arthur James

Born Hobart Tasmania the son of William James and Anne Abigail Tilley (nee Martin) a miner he embarked 20^th October 1914 on board “HMAT Geelong” with the 12^th Infantry Battalion.

Pte Tilley is shown wearing his uniform when he enlisted and served with the First Tasmanian Contingent Boer War.

He was killed in action 6^th April 1917 in France and is commemorated in the Morchies Australian Cemetery, Morchies, Arras, Nord Pas de Calais, France
