Tilley Arthur James
Born Hobart Tasmania the son of William James and Anne Abigail Tilley (nee Martin) a miner he embarked 20th October 1914 on board “HMAT Geelong” with the 12th Infantry Battalion.
Pte Tilley is shown wearing his uniform when he enlisted and served with the First Tasmanian Contingent Boer War.
He was killed in action 6th April 1917 in France and is commemorated in the Morchies Australian Cemetery, Morchies, Arras, Nord Pas de Calais, France
