Timms Ashleigh Harry

 

 

Born 30th December 1897 Lefroy Tasmania but living and working as a surveyor in Birchip Victoria the son of Frank Edward and Sarah Timms (nee Lathey) he embarked Melbourne 8th July 1916 on board “HMAT “Ajana” with the 58th Infantry Battalion.

Corporal Timms died 25th March 1917 at the 14th Field Ambulance from shell wounds to both legs and an arm in France and was buried in the Bapaume Australian Cemetery, France.

TIMMS. - On 25th March, 1917, died of wounds in France, Cpl. Ashleigh Harry Timms, dearly loved only son of F. E. Timms, Sandringham. Served with the the 6th Batt at Gallipoli; invalided home 5th October, 1915, returned to duty 31st December, 1915, aged 19 years.  Deeply mourned.
