Tolson, George Henry
Born 22nd July 1890 Longford Tasmania the son of William Vincent and Brighty Cecilia Tolson (nee Murphy) married to Rachel Mary Patman with one child a motor mechanic he embarked Melbourne 25th May 1916 on board “HMAT Warilda with the No 4 Tunnelling Company. On the 7th October 1918 he was appointed Lance Corporal. He was serving with the 6th Australian Corps Troops Mechanical Transport Company when he died 17th November 1918 at the 12th Casualty Clearing Station from broncho pneumonia and was buried in the Busigny Communal Cemetery Extension, Busigny, Cambrai, Nord Pas de Calais, France. TOLSON.--In proud and loving memory of our dear husband and father, Lance- Corporal G. H. Tolson, 6th Mechanical Transport Company, who died in France, November 17th 1919 (One of the brave) Always happy and cheerful / With a heart that knew no fear, / He went to face life's battle / For all he loved so dear. You are ever in our thoughts, dear one, / It is sweet to speak thy name; / In life we loved thee dearly, / In death we do the same.
