Townsend Benjamin Gaffer
The son of William and Lavinia Francis Townsend of Ulverstone a 25 year old saw doctor he enlisted Melbourne and embarked 3rd July 1916 on board “HMAT Ayrshire” with the 21st Battalion.
He died 4th May 1917 from gunshot wounds to the right leg and left arm and was buried in the Grevillers British Cemetery.
