Tuck, Frederick Grant

 

 

Born 8th January 1885 Sandhurst Victoria the son of Thomas and Emma Tuck (nee Carpenter) and married to Eva Gertrude Murphy, chief sanitary/meat inspector with the Hobart City Council he embarked Hobart 1st July 1916 on board “HMAT Berrima” with the 40th Infantry Battalion.

 

On the 22nd May 1916 he was appointed sergeant

 

He was killed in action 31st January 1917 in France and is commemorated in the Cite Bonjean Military Cemetery, Armentieres, Lille, France.

 

His brother Sgt Albert Victor Tuck (No 191) was killed in action 26th April 1915 on the Gallipoli Peninsula and is commemorated on the Shell Green Cemetery, Gallipoli Peninsula, Canakkale Province, Turkey
