Turmine, Henry Born Perth Tasmania the son of Jessie Turmine he embarked Melbourne 4th August 1917 on board “HMAT Themistocles” with the 12th Infantry Battalion. He was killed in action 23rd August 1918 in France and is commemorated on the Heath Cemetery, Harbonnieres, Amiens Harbonnieres Area. Military Medal For conspicuous conduct during operations at Lihons on the 11th August whilst a member of a fighting patrol. Pte Turmine showed great initiative and courage in crossing the rear of the enemy at Auger Wood recapturing 4 prisoners of the 10th Battalion and killing their escort.
