Mrs. W. Turner of Hillford, Llewellyn, has received from Chaplain W. K. Douglas a letter expressing the sympathy of the officers and men of the battalion in the death of her son, Private F. W. Turner. He slept on the night of Decembcr 10 by himself in a dug-out in the support line. A German shell struck the dug-out some time during the night, and apparently it was the concussion that caused his death. He suffered no pain, he was buried next day in one of the military cemeteries close by, and his grave is marked by a cross showing his number, name, unit, and date of death. The French Government has promised that all land used by the British as cemeteries shall be for ever held reserved as sacred.
