Venn, John Henry

 

Born 1893 Rhyndaston Tasmania to Mathew Sylas and Matilda Venn (nee Harding) and married to Hilda May Williams, a farmer who embarked Melbourne 23rd November 1916 on board “HMAT Hororata” with the 2nd Pioneer Battalion.

He was killed in action 13th June 1918 in France and is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Military Cemetery, France. 

His brother Pte Mathew Sylias Venn (No 607) was killed in action 15th December 1917 in Belgium and is commemorated in the Lindenhoek Chalet Military Cemetery, Belgium.
