Wallack, Gordon Townsend
Captain Gordon Townsend Wallack, who was killed in action at the Dardanelles, was the son of Colonel E. T. Wallack, District Commandant in New South Wales. He was 30 years of age. His association with military work began when, at the age of 11, he joined the Tasmanian artillery as a bugler. He received his commission in the South Australian infantry in 1906. Two years later he was transferred to Victoria and there joined the permanent forces. He was appointed captain in the Australian Imperial Force in August last. The West Australian 2nd June 1915
