Watson, Alfred Ernest

 

 

Born 22nd Nov 1871 Hobart Tasmania to Joseph William and Mary Watson (nee Grant_ and a 34 year old carpenter.  He embarked Fremantle on HMAT Argyllshire 19th April 1915 with the 12th Infantry Battalion

 

An enquiry into his death in France stated

“Sapper Watson accidentally met his death on railway line to Laventie on the morning of 17/9/16 and no blame attached to any person or persons for said death”

 

He was buried Anzac Cemetery Sailly-Sur-La-Lys.
