Wells, Charles Frederick

 

 

Born 1894 Richmond Tasmania the son of Thomas William and Elizabeth Ann Wells (nee Smith) a labourer he embarked Adelaide 1st April 1915 on board “HMAT Port Lincoln” with the 12th Infantry Battalion.

 

He died 7th August 1915 at Malta hospital from pneumonia and was buried in the Pieta Military Cemetery, Tal-Pieta, Malta (island), Malta

 

PIETA MILITARY CEMETERY, MALTA. GRAVE OF 323 COMPANY SERGEANT MAJOR T. PATTON OF THE 7TH BATTALION AIF, WHO DIED ON 1915-08-09, AGED 28 YEARS, AND ALSO OF 2076 PRIVATE C.F. WELLS OF THE 12TH BATTALION, WHO DIED ON 1915-08-07, AGED 20 YEARS. THEY ARE BURIED WITH A BRITISH SERVICEMAN. (DONOR PRESIDENT OF MALTA
