Wheatley, Albert Victor
Born 9th January 1892 Brighton Tasmania to Hiram Charles and Jane Wheatley (nee Paine) he embarked Melbourne 21st October 1916 on board “HMAT Port Melbourne” with the 40th Infantry Battalion. On arrival in England he contracted influenza and was admitted to the Fargo Military Hospital on the 5th February and died 11th February 1917. He was buried in the Durrington Cemetery, United Kingdom. His Brother Percy Alfred Wheatley (No 1104) died 5th May 1915 on the Gallipoli Peninsula and is commemorated on the Lone Pine Memorial, Gallipoli, Turkey.
