Wheatley, Percy Alfred

Born 9^th October 1888 Brighton Tasmania to Hiram James and Jane Wheatley (nee Paine) a labourer he departed Melbourne 22^nd December 1914 on board “HMAT Ceramic” with the 15^th Infantry Battalion.

He died 5^th May 1915 from wounds received in the field on the Gallipoli Peninsula and is commemorated on the Lone Pine Memorial, Gallipoli, Turkey.

His brother Albert Victor Wheatley (No 2412) died 11^th February 1917 in the Fargo Military Hospital England from pneumonia and was buried in the Durrington Cemetery, United Kingdom.
