Whiley, William Thomas
Born 21st August 1892 Sheffield Tasmania to Thomas William and Emily Mary Ann Whiley (nee Eagling) a farmer who embarked Melbourne 27th September 1915 on board “HMAT Hororata” with the 26th Infantry Battalion. Cpl Whiley was serving with the 7th Australian Light Trench Mortar Battery when he was killed in action 4th July 1918 and is commemorated in the Adelaide Cemetery, Villers-Bretonneux, France.
