White Michael John

 

Born 13th July 1888 Waratah Tasmania to William and Hanorah White (nee Mahoney) a miner who departed Sydney 13th October 1915 on board “HMAT Port Lincoln” with the 13th Infantry Battalion.

Sgt White was killed in action 11th April 1917 by a machine gun bullet to the throat at Bullecourt and because he has no known grave is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France.
