White, Clive Clarendon
Born 1st September 1893 Mathinna Tasmania the son of Charles and Harriet Jane White (nee Lowe) a labourer from Blessington Tasmania he embarked Melbourne 29th March 1916 on board RMS Orontes with the 12th Infantry Battalion. He was killed in action 26th September 1917 in Belgium and is commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial, Ypres, West-Vlaanderen, Flanders, Belgium News was received in Launceston on Tuesday by Miss Vida Duffy that Private Clive C White of the 52nd Battalion AIF had been killed in action in France on September 26th. Deceased left Tasmania in March 1916 and took part in nearly all of the fighting which has fallen to the lot of the Tasmanians. Private White was employed at Messrs Shields Launceston prior to his enlistment and was also a playing member of the Central Football Club. The Weekly Courier 18th October 1917
