Wilby Gordon

 

 

 

Born 1st August 1889 Beaconsfield the son of George Ernest and Mary Wilby (nee Davies) married to Ida Dumont a 24 year old blacksmith he enlisted Victoria and served with the 23rd Battalion. RSM Wilby died 8th June 1918 from wounds received and was buried in the Querrieu British Cemetery France.

Mrs E. Berryman, Magnet, has been advised that her third youngest
brother, Regimental-Sergeant Gordon Wilby, 33rd Battalion, A.I.F., who enlisted in Victoria three years ago, has died of wounds received on active service. Mrs Berryman has two other brothers on active service, and another
recently returned from France wounded.
