FRANKLIN SOLDIER KILLED It is with great regret we have to announce that information has been received from the military authorities of the death of Private Wilfred (Fred) Wilcox, son of Mr and Mrs J. Wilcox of North Franklin. The deceased soldier was in his 25th year and was well known and esteemed throughout the district. In October last he was reported wounded and missing but after exhaustive inquiries by his former companions at the front and his commanding officer, Lieut. Brown, the conclusion has been arrived at that he died after being severely wounded as he never reached the base hospital which he would have been sent to on the occasion when he was wounded. Much sympathy is felt for the bereaved parents and family. Huon Times (Franklin, Tas. : 1910 - 1933), Friday 28 June 1918,
