Williams of Patersonia is in receipt of a letter from Lieutenant I. Jackson giving particulars of the death of her son, P S. F. Williams who succumbed to wounds received in action on the night of November 2l last. Lieutenant Jackson expresses his deepest sympathy in the sad bereavement The young soldier, he writes, had been with them all along and had done extremely fine work as a runner on all occasions. He was a fine fellow and all his mates joined in the expression of sympathy Wounded by a shell on the last night in the line, the young soldier was given treatment by a medical officer on the spot, and hurried off to hospital, but a few days later all were sorry to hear of his death. He was a good soldier, and a great favourite with all, and Lieutenant Jackson felt that he would miss him very much from the section, and would look long to get a man to fill his place.
