Williscroft, Horace Frederick

 

Born 29th March 1897 Hobart Tasmania the son of Alexander George and Ada Jane Williscroft (nee Weekes) a labourer he embarked Melbourne 21st March 1916 on board RMS Malwa with the Field Artillery Brigade.

 

He was serving with the 15th Field Artillery Brigade when he was admitted to the 47th Field Ambulance ill but unfortunately the enemy shelled the dressing station, he received a wound to the head and died 5th December 1916. He is commemorated in the Becourt Military Cemetery France.

WILLISCROFT. — On December 5th in France of wounds, Gunner Horace Frederick (Nugget) dearly loved. second son of George and Ada Williscroft, and loved brother of Viv., Lionel, Don and Len, aged 19 years and 9 months of Queenstown. 'He sleeps in a hero's grave.’
