Wilson, Charles
He was born Launceston Tasmania the son of Frank Wilson, a painter and paper hanger who departed Adelaide 10th February 1917 on board “HMAT Seang Bee” with the 12th Infantry Battalion. He was killed in action 23rd April 1918 when a shell exploded close by burying him. He is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France. Mr Frank Wilson of Frankland Street received the sad news on Saturday that his son Private Charles Wilson had been killed in action in France on April 23rd. Previous to enlisting Pte Wilson was employed by Mr Harry Goodluck. Deceased was a good sport and a prominent player in the Central Football Club. The Weekly Courier 16th May 1918
