Winter, Phillip Eric
Born 16th October 1891 Railton Tasmania the son of Harry and Martha Winter (nee Blackwell) a farmer he embarked Melbourne 16th October 1915 on board “HMAT Port Lincoln” with the 15th Infantry Battalion
He was serving with the 47th Battalion when he was killed in action 6th August 1916 at Pozieres in France (previously reported missing) and is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux, Villers-Bretonneux Area, France
His brother Charles William Winter was killed in action 6th August 1916 and is also commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux, Villers-Bretonneux Area, France
