Winter, Phillip Eric

Born 16^th October 1891 Railton Tasmania the son of Harry and Martha Winter (nee Blackwell) a farmer he embarked Melbourne 16^th October 1915 on board “HMAT Port Lincoln” with the 15^th Infantry Battalion

He was serving with the 47^th Battalion when he was killed in action 6^th August 1916 at Pozieres in France (previously reported missing) and is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux, Villers-Bretonneux Area, France

His brother Charles William Winter was killed in action 6^th August 1916 and is also commemorated on the  Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux, Villers-Bretonneux Area, France
