Wise, John Thomas Alexander
Born 6th January 1891 Hobart Tasmania to Theopolius William Paul and Caroline Wise (nee Tedman) a fireman he embarked Melbourne 14th February 1917 on board “RMS Osterley” with the 25th Howitzer Brigade. He died 18th May 1917 in England from anemia and was buried in the Durrington Cemetery, United Kingdom. Word was received yesterday of the death in Fargo Military Hospital England from acute appendicitis of Sapper J. T. A. (Snowy) Wise, of Launceston. Deceased was a well-known northern footballer, and a prominent member of the City club. He was in his 27th year. The Examiner 25th May 1917
