Wood, George Arthur

 

 

 

Born Ballarat Victoria the son of Edwin Arthur and Lucy Wood married a baker he embarked Melbourne 25th October 1916 on board “HMAT Ulysses” with the 40th Infantry Battalion.

 

He was killed in action 26th April 1918 in France when he was hit by a shell and is commemorated in the Mericourt-L'Abbe Communal Cemetery Extension, Mericourt-L'Abbe, Peronne, France.
