Woodberry, Max Llewellyn

 

 

Born 6th October 1893 Deloraine Tasmania to Septimus Walter and Franceska Lambert (nee Seelig) a house decorator who embarked Melbourne 22nd December 1914 on board “HMAT Themistocies” with the 12th Infantry Battalion.

He was killed in action 25th April 1915 on the Gallipoli Peninsula and as no body was recovered he is commemorated on the Lone Pine Memorial, Gallipoli, Turkey.

 

Mr. S. W. Woodberry of Deloraine, has been officially advised that the Court of Inquiry reports that his son Pte. M. Woodbcrry was killed in action in France between April 25 and 28. Pte. Woodberry, who was a member of the 12th Battalion, was previously reported missing. The authorities conveyed the deepest regret and sympathy of the King and Queen, the Common wealth Government, and the District Commandant, in the loss sustained by them and by the Army.
