Woods Horace Charles

 

Born 19th June 1895 Campbell Town Tasmania to Charles Albert and Emma Woods (nee Rowlands) a ships steward with the Imperial Navy who embarked Sydney 11th February 1915 on board “HMAT Seang Bee” with the 13th Infantry Battalion.

Was wounded 30th April 1915 at the Gallipoli Peninsula and sent to Manchester Hospital England for treatment, returned to Gallipoli 15th August 1915 to rejoin his Battalion and was killed in action a few days later on  22nd August 1915.

 He is commemorated Embarkation Pier Cemetery, Gallipoli, Turkey.
