Wright, George Simon

Born 15^th April 1895 Richmond Tasmania the son of Simon Joseph and Edith Jane Wright (nee MacMichael) a farm labourer he embarked Sydney 14^th June 1917 on board “HMAT Hororata” with the 12^th Infantry Battalion.

He was serving with the 40^th Battalion when he was killed in action 28^th March 1917 when he was hit by shell fragments. He is commemorated in the Heilly Station Cemetery, Mericourt-L'Abbe, Peronne, France.
