Wright, Raymond Alfred

 

 

Born 13th November 1891 St Mary’s Tasmania to Francis Herbert and Amy Maria Wright (nee Lohrey) he was a farmer when he enlisted.  Pte Wright embarked Hobart Tasmania 1st. July 1916 on “HMAT Berrima” with the 40th Battalion.

 

He was part of a raiding party before the attack on Armentieres which came under fire by enemy bombers. He was killed instantly 31st. January 1917 by shell fire at Messines.

 

He is buried in the Cite Bonjean Military Cemetery, Armentieres, France
