Youl John Beresford Osmond
Born 13th January 1894 Longford Tasmania the son of Alfred and Annette Frances Youl (nee Wigan) an Engineer he embarked Hobart 20th October 1914 on board “HMAT Geelong” with the 12th Infantry Battalion and the rank of Private. 2nd Lieutenant Youl was killed in action 5th May 1917 Bullecourt France and is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France YOUL.-On the 6th May killed in action in France. 2nd Lieutenant John Beresford Osmond, 12th Battalion, 1st Australian Division dearly loved youngest son, of Alfred and Annette Youl. Lelghlands. Aged 23 years.
