Born 29 Mar 1922 Miss Keplars Private Hospital, Scottsdale Tasmania to William and Muriel Andrews (nee Dakin). He enlisted in the Australian Army “A” Company 2/40th Battalion on the 11th November 1941. Three months later on the 23rd February 1942 he was taken prisoner in Timor. After his capture he was first moved to Java, then Singapore and finally Sumatra dying at the Pekanbaru Prisoner of War camp on the 10th May 1945 aged 23 years
