Service Number TX5905 DeathDate 10/05/1945 Place of Death Sumatra Cause of Death Died whilst POW Burial Cemetery Camp

Born 29 Mar 1922 Miss Keplars Private Hospital, Scottsdale Tasmania to William and Muriel Andrews (nee Dakin).

He enlisted in the Australian Army “A” Company 2/40^th Battalion on the 11^th November 1941. Three months later on the 23^rd February 1942 he was taken prisoner in Timor. After his capture he was first moved to Java, then Singapore and finally Sumatra dying at the Pekanbaru Prisoner of War camp on the 10^th May 1945 aged 23 years
