PTE GEORGE DOUGLAS ARNOL, 2/40th Battalion, whose death in a Japanese prison camp on July 5, 1943, has been reported. He was 23 years of age, and was the youngest son of Mrs Mary J. and the late Mr G. Arnol, Swansea. The Mercury 18 July 1945 ARNOL.-TX8396 Pte George Douglas, died of illness while prisoner bf war in Thailand, on July 5, 1943, aged 21 years, youngest son of Mrs Mary J. Arnol and late George Arnol, Swansea, brother of Dorothy (Mrs J. V. Wilson, Nowra, NSW), Reita (Mrs R. H. Dilger, Swansea), Cyril (Meredith St., New Town), Mac, Vern (Yallourn, Victoria), Hedley (AIF, returned), Errol (AIF, liberated). Reg and Terry (AIF, Australia). Mercury 6 July 1945
