Service Number TX2706 Death Date 24/12/1944 Place of Death Pneumonia Nagasaki Japan Cause of Death POW Fukuoka ex Timor Burial Death of Prisoner Mrs Ruby Bailey, of Woodbridge and recently of Bellerive, has been advised by the Minister for the Army that her husband, Pte J. L. Bailey, died of croup and pneumonia while a prisoner in Fukuoka Camp, Japan on Dec. 24. Pte Bailey was on a torpedoed troopship in Sept. 1944 while being transferred to Japan from the East Indies. Mrs Bailey, has two small children, one of whom has not been seen by her late husband. The Mercury 12 Sep 1945
