Photo taken by Linda McKenzie Born Strahan Tasmania, the son of Wallace McDonald and Ada Gertrude Bailey he was a fettler at Teepookana when he enlisted. It was reported in the Burnie Advocate that L/Cpl W. C. Bailey and his brother Pte J. E. Bailey were both prisoners of war. Lance Corporal Bailey later died of illness in Thailand.
