Service Number 408232 Death Date 19/04/1943 Place of Death Middle East Cause of Death Flying Battle Burial El Alamein War Cemetery

Born Launceston Tasmania to Leslie George and Isabel Kirkwood Hogarth Bain, Flt Sgt Bain was a motor mechanic when he enlisted in the RAAF. 

Was a member of the crew of Wellington III HZ146 'B' which crashed in flames on the 19th April 1943 perhaps lost to flak but claimed by Oblt Stefen Machat of II/NJG2. 

Flt Sgt Leslie Bain is commemorated on the El Alamein Memorial.
