MEMORIAL TREES

Hobart Sailors Honoured

Oak trees in memory of Able Seaman John Bulmer R.A.N., who made the supreme sacrifice while on convoy duty in the Mediterranean on June I6, and of Able Seaman William Bain, a member of the crew of H.M.A.S. Sydney, were planted on Saturday in the West Hobart recreation ground. The ceremony was incorporated in a tree-planting project undertaken by the Wattle League in conjunction with the West Hobart Progress Association and the Parents and Friends Assoclation of the Lansdowne Crescent school.

Able Seamen Bain and Bulmer were old boys of the Lansdowne Crescent school, and Bain of the Kennerley Boys' Home. The memorial trees were planted by Leading Cook J. V. Croxon and Stoker F. G. Williams, old boys of the home and school.
