Born 9 June 1922 Hamilton Tasmania to Leslie and Ida Bannister Pte Bannister enlisted at Brighton on 30 Oct 1941 and was posted to the 2/29 Infantry Battalion.

He was a POW at Malai Camp where he died from malaria.
